Explanation of Grayswandir's
Alternity Character Sheet
The Character Sheet
PC
-
Name:
-
Obviously, the character's name.
-
Home:
-
Where is the character from?
-
Motive & Morals:
-
What motivates the character? Describe his moral outlook.
-
Trait & Trait:
-
The two main personality traits of the character. With Motive
& Morals, these provide a good quick glance at the character's personality.
-
Race, Prof, Career, & Sex:
-
These should be obvious. The character's Race/Species, Profession,
Career, and Gender/Sex.
-
XP:
-
This represents stored experience points, not total or spent.
-
XP Table:
-
This is just like the one in the PHB, and is used the same way.
-
Str, Dex, Con, Int, Wil, & Per:
-
Obvious again. These are the character's six attributes: Strength,
Dexterity, Constitution, Intelligence, Will, and Personality.
-
Unt & RM:
-
The character's Untrained score and Resistance Modifier for each attribute.
-
LR & LRC:
-
The character's Last Resort Points, current and maximum, and the cost per
Last Resort Point.
-
APR:
-
You've probably figured out that this is Actions Per Round.
-
AR
-
This would be the character's Armor Rating. In other words, the damage
absorbed by the armor the character is accustomed to wearing, in Low Impact,
High Impact, and Energy, just like on the chart in the Player's Handbook.
-
ACS & ACM:
-
You can probably tell that ACS is the Action Check Score. ACM is the
Action Check Modifier, which for most starting characters will be +0.
-
Spr, Rn, Wk, ESw, Sw, Gl, & Fl:
-
These are the character's combat movement rates, for Sprinting, Running,
Walking, Easy Swim, Swimming, Gliding, and Flying. Of course, the last
two only apply if the character happens to be able to fly.
-
CT & PE Charts:
-
These are the charts for the character's Cyber Tolerance and Psionic Energy.
Any boxes in excess of the character's maximum should be blackened out, just
like the Damage Chart.
-
Damage Chart:
-
These are the character's hit points. Stun and Wound are on the left,
Fatigue and Mortal on the right. The character's total number in each
category should be written on the line next to the appropriate letter: S
for Stun, W for Wound, F for Fatigue, and M for Mortal. It is used
just like the one in the PHB.
-
Bkgd:
-
The character's background. I like to have appearance, personality,
personal history, and goals written here. For my own characters I sometimes
write up to a full page of background. I like to have reasoning; explain
why the character is the way he is.
-
Eqp:
-
Obviously, this space is for the character's equipment. Computers and
cybernetics also go in this space.
-
Attack Table:
-
This is a chart of my own devising, for combat. All the modifiers should
be calculated so a quick glance at this table can tell you what you need
to know. The weapon or attack goes under the Attack line; the standard
step modifier, with any modifier for the individual weapon or use of a broad
skill counted in, goes under Mod; the appropriate skill score goes under
Score; and the damage, with Strength bonuses counted, goes under Dmg. This
table has two columns, so use them both.
-
Skill Table:
-
This is a chart for the character's skills. Obviously, the skill itself
should be named under Skill, and specialty skills should also note which
broad skill they go under. Under Mod, list the base step modifier or
situation die (usually +0), and the rank in a specialty skill goes under
Rank. The score itself is of course listed under Score. Like
the Attack Table above, the Skill Table has two columns, and both should
be used. The second may, however, be used for Mutation, Perks, and
Flaws for convenience sake.
Ship
This sheet is very straightforward, and follows closely the examples in the AGMG and Starships accessory, so I won't go into
much detail about it. The blank area next to the Notes section is for you to draw a picture of your ship, or a schematic of its
layout. In the large table below, you should follow the layout of the example ships in the AGMG and Starships accessory -- I do
realize that many of the lines in the first three columns will be left blank.
