In a move showing bold initiative, the U.N. dispatched yesterday a unit of elite Marines to retake the San Diego Spaceport. As our faithful readers know, this spaceport was recently lost to an attack by the outlaws on Terra, a loss which prompted similar attacks on spaceports all across North America. An insult of that magnitude simply could not be tolerated, nor was it. The U.N. Marines, led by Corporal Josef Sardobic, landed in San Diego and reclaimed the spaceport for the U.N. without so much as a struggle. Although the building had suffered structural damage from the earlier battle, the U.N. remains confident that the damage will not pose a problem. "The compound desperately needed renovation anyway", declared Assemblyman Rimes when asked his opinion on the matter. "Being as old as it was, its defenses were sorely lacking, which was the only reason the Terrans' attack was successful at all. So even had the compound been undamaged, it still would have needed to be in large part rebuilt. But we sent in good men, with heavy equipment. Even with the construction going on, anyone who thinks the spaceport an easy target will be in for a big surprise."
