Combat

If caught alone, the guardsman will raise a hue and cry while fending off the attack. Even when with other guards, he will generally retreat if hard-pressed, only to return soon with reinforcements. Guards often use the reach of their polearm to their advantage, fending off attacks while inflicting blows of their own and occasionally attempting a trip attack when appropriate.
